A hands-on project rooted in planning, growth, and community impact.

Seeds of Hope is a student-led project developed and led by Ekisha Sharma and Vihaan Sharma, 10th grade students at Adlai E. Stevenson High School. Over the past several months, they have shaped this initiative as a hands-on undertaking centered around planning, growth, and community impact.

While supported by their parents in execution, the project has been designed and driven entirely by the students themselves — combining financial awareness, resource planning, and operational execution through a structured plant-growing project.

Seeds were thoughtfully selected. Materials were planned and managed within a defined budget. Plants were nurtured through each stage of growth.

The goal was not only to grow plants — but to translate key learnings into real-world application. To understand how planning, consistency, and thoughtful decision-making lead to tangible outcomes.

— A Garden Tea Gathering

A small, invitation-only gathering where the results of this project will be shared with family and friends. Guests will have the opportunity to engage with the project and, if they wish, make optional contributions toward a charitable cause.

By Invitation

Why we chose Feed My Starving Children.

In selecting a charitable partner, we wanted an organization that reflects the same values this project was built upon — thoughtful planning, measurable impact, and meaningful outcomes.

Feed My Starving Children stood out for its structured approach and clear, direct impact. The ability to see how contributions translate into real meals for children in need makes the connection between effort and outcome both tangible and meaningful.

Our family has also developed a deeper connection with FMSC over time. While there has been long-standing support for the organization, we began more actively engaging with the cause in November 2025, and have since continued to support its mission on a regular basis.

i.
Small efforts, big change That small, well-planned efforts can lead to meaningful change in the world.
ii.
Thoughtful resources That resources, when used thoughtfully, create real and lasting impact.
iii.
Intentional giving That giving can be intentional, structured, and genuinely effective.

Through this initiative, we hope to…

  1. Provide a meaningful opportunity for students to connect learning with real-world impact.
  2. Encourage thoughtful and intentional giving within our community.
  3. Support FMSC's mission through optional contributions shared with event guests.

We sincerely appreciate the work FMSC does in making a measurable difference in communities around the world. It would be an honor to align this student-led initiative with your mission — and contribute in a small but meaningful way.

Growing with purpose. Giving with intention.
